Diabetes control
All our patients are screened for diabetes pre-operatively as well as post-operatively.
Diabetic patients are looked after by an internal medicine doctor specialized in diabetes control.
These patients are looked after on daily basis and drugs doses adjusted by that doctor.
In the ICU, diabetes is controlled by crystalline insulin infusion according to blood sugar as measured on hourly basis.
After going to the ward their drug treatment is reviewed and adjusted by the internal medicine doctor.
These patients are given an appointment after discharge to see the internal medicine doctor to advise about further treatment.
