 Intermediate Care

  • Stable patients needing more clinical attention are transferred to a six-bedded intensive care near the ward.

  • The intermediate care is fully monitored and equipped with ventilators and is looked after by two nurses and a registrar per shift.

  • The patients with chest drains, on minimal support, suffering from delayed recovery or suffering from other minor post-operative conditions are sent to the intermediate care instead of the ward immediately

  • The intermediate care also doubles up as an emergency resuscitation station due to its proximity to the ward.
