he unit is a recognized center for training for the
first of kind Egyptian pediatric oncology fellowship program that
started since 2004.
Teaching program is held on monthly basis for the fellows which is
carried out by professors from the National Cancer Institute and
other universities.
Establishment of collaboration with the National American Arab
Medical Association (NAAMA) with exchange of experience through
holding symposia & workshops presented by international pediatric
oncology experts.
The 1st. was held on May 2003 & was entitled:
management of childhood malignancy.
The 2nd. Was held on Jan. 2004 & was entitled:
reaching consensus for management of children with malignancy.
The 3rd. was held on July 2005 & was entitled: BMT in pediatric
oncology with parallel workshops on the: clinical pharmacy,
hematopathology, pediatric ICU, pediatric Oncology & infection
control.
A clinical training course will be held on
11-12/11/06.
The 4th. One will be held on 18 Dec. 2006 the schedule will be
announced later.
Scientific activity for
nurses
Training courses for nursing staff dealing with cancer
were held on Jan. /2005, Feb. /2005 & Jan. /2006.
Patient Education:
A book entitled: my small book on pediatric oncology was
translated by the unit staff, printed & distributed on patients for
their education for free.
